What is Home Visiting?

Daddy and Baby Playing Togetherness Love Emotional

As parents, we all need help at some point – raising a child is a tough job! We are their first and most important relationship and teacher. We want to do what is best for our children. Sometimes we need just a little extra help and guidance.

What is a home visit like?

Home visits involve families meeting with trained family support staff who will answer questions, provide information and resources, and offer guidance. You and your home visitor will arrange a visiting schedule that works for your family. Home visitors are qualified to answer questions and provide guidance on such issues as:

Maternal & Child Health

Child Development & Growth

Positive Parenting

School Readiness

Safe Home Environments

Learning

What does a home visitor provide?

Home visitors can:

  • Answer questions about pregnancy or parenting
  • Provide information about local health and support services
  • Help parents prepare for a new baby
  • Offer guidance on healthy development for babies, young children, and families
  • And much more!
"My home visitor has helped me to be a better parent by giving me the tools and education to allow my daughter to flourish."
