Home visiting is a free, voluntary program that brings a trained family-support professional to help at times that are convenient for you and your family. Home visitors provide new or expecting parents with resources to keep themselves and their children safe, healthy, and nurtured.

Kansas Home Visiting comes at no cost to parents and provides flexible scheduling!

All Kansas families with children ages birth to 5 can participate in home visiting. Home visit programs are as unique as the families they serve. Some programs utilize a statewide-universal model to ensure the successful development of children and families. Other programs are more specialized and have eligibility requirements for participation.

Home visits are proven to

  • Support healthy and thriving children
  • Increase parenting knowledge and confidence
  • Improve maternal, newborn, and child health
  • Create safe homes, supportive interactions, and positive relationships
  • Help increase school readiness and success
  • Strengthen the bond between a parent and a child

In addition to programs that provide home visitors, Kansas Home Visiting also connects you to other support services in your area!

We need your help!

DCCCA has created a survey to assess awareness about home visiting services in Kansas and to learn how we can raise awareness of this service. Your feedback is greatly valued and will help us guide our future efforts to increase awareness of home visitation services and to help empower parents and families to take action in receiving supports and giving their children a head start in life.
